1. Plantar Fasciitis

This condition can occur among sports players as well as those who suffer from diabetes or carry a lot of weight. It can also be a problem for those who have flat feet. Plantar Fasciitis is very painful and is the result of the inflammation of the plantar fascia. The plantar fascia is the fibrous band of tissue that is on the sole of the foot; this tissue helps support the arch. The inflammation occurs because the plantar fascia has been overloaded or overstretched

2. Heel Spurs

An abnormal growth of bone where the plantar fascia attaches to the heel bone is known as a heel spur. Heel spurs result from continuous strain on the plantar fascia as well as the muscles to the foot – so this can be a common foot challenge for those who run a lot, particularly for long distances at a time. In addition, heel spurs can often result from plantar fasciitis as well. The preventative measure of always ensuring you have well fitted and constructed footwear can help in mitigating the chance of heel spurs occurring or re-occuring.
