Frequently Asked Questions
No, a referral is not required.
However if a referral is made by another health professional please bring this along to your first appointment.
Do you need a referral to see a Podiatrist?
It depends on your personal extras cover. You will need to check with your health fund if your private health cover includes podiatry. We have HICAPS onsite at all our clinics, so that on the spot health fund rebates can be claimed. A small gap payment is usually required along with the health fund rebate. Please contact us for more information about fees and charges.
Is Podiatry covered by my private health insurance?
Yes, if you have a referral from your GP under an Enhanced Primary Health Care Plan. You can claim up to 5 visits per calendar year that we will bulk bill to Medicare. Eligibility criteria are in place associated with a chronic disease management plan (i.e. Diabetes), and you will need to check with your GP if you are eligible for a referral.
Is Podiatry covered by Medicare?
Yes, the clinic is a preferred provider for Medibank Private and BUPA. Both health funds offer higher rebates at our clinic to minimize the gap payment payable.
We are also registered with the HCF More For Feet program.
